In an article last week from Healthcare IT News, Editor-at-Large Bernie Monegain shares that New York-Presbyterian Healthcare System, one of Derive's customers, will use Athenahealth's cloud-based models for care coordination, population health management, and clinical integration.
Athenahealth will help New York-Presbyterian to streamline its expansion and develop appropriate technology infrastructure due to this cloud-based service's flexibility. Together with New York-Presbyterian's Physician Services Organization (NYPPSO), Athenahealth will aid in the management of physician practices through electronic health record, patient engagement, and practice management services. There will be a focus on patients and physicians, with innovative care coordination and advanced population management initiatives.
According to Laura Forese MD., President of New York-Presbyterian Healthcare System, "we are excited to collaborate with athenahealth to build an integrated health care delivery system predicated on intelligent, cloud-based services". Michael Nochomovitz MD., Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Integration & Network Development Officer at New York-Presbyterian, stated that "patients will be able to book same-day appointments at physician practices and access their medical records online 24 hours a day, seven days a week".
